“We won’t resign immediately as today’s meeting ended on positive note”
KATHMANDU, May 13: Senior leader of the ruling CPN-UML has said that lawmakers of his faction would not resign immediately as his meeting with party Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, earlier on Thursday afternoon, ended on a positive note.
Earlier, the lawmakers close to leader Nepal issued an ultimatum to address their demands by 4:30 PM Thursday. They were reportedly preparing to resign en masse if their concerns were not head by the party leadership.
Speaking to the media persons after an almost four-hour meeting in Budhanilkantha, leader Nepal said that a task force would be formed in order to resolve disputes and resurrect the party as it was on May 16, 2018. “We’ll hold regular discussions and reach the meeting point soon,” said Nepal.
According to Nepal, the UML has now moved towards resolving the intraparty disputes.
