Geganath memorial journalism prize established


Nepal Press Union Tanahu chair Amarraj Naharki has founded a journalism prize in memory of his late father Geganath Naharki.

At a function held here on Saturday, Naharki handed over the cheque for establishment of the journalism prize revolving fund. Naharki and family members handed over Rs. 51,151 to invitee central member of Nepali Congress Dhruva Wagley.

Interest drawn from the fund will be used to present the 'Geganath Naharki Memorial Journalism Prize' annually. Naharki is the joint editor of Setimadi Daily and Tanahu correspondent of Gorkhapatra daily.

At the programme, the performance and activities of Nepal Press Union were reviewed, with majority of the speakers calling for unity to move ahead with more strength.
