PM Oli urges not to go by misleading publicity against incumbent government
KathmanPrime Mdu - inister KP Sharma Oli has appealed to one and all not to be swayed by the false and misleading publicity orchestrated against the incumbent government. Inaugurating the Community Health Unit building at Ghunsa village in Phaktanglung Rural Municipality-6 in Taplejung district today, PM Oli claimed that some parties were being panicked at the sight of the incumbent government becoming popular day by day and were spreading false information out of envy.
Stating that the incumbent government was effortful of ensuring prosperity, Oli ranted that those who don’t want the country to prosper were hounding the incumbent government. "We are working to ensure prosperity but some parties are creating confusion against the democratic system. It is erroneous," he added.
On a different note, the PM asserted that the government had adopted a policy to strengthen Nepal's relations with the neighbouring countries. He viewed that the incumbent government was successful in bringing back the India-encroached land, further strengthening ties with India and China and among others. The Head of the Government assured that a remote village like Ghunsa, would be accessible within three years as the government was building physical infrastructures in this area including the roads.
Furthermore, to promote domestic tourism, he said that the foreign tourists visiting Kanchenjunga region need not obtain special permit adding that the provision will be scrapped soon. On the occasion, Prime Minister’s spouse Radhika Shakya announced to provide scholarship of Rs 500,000 to 10 students of Ghunsa Basic School. She also distributed warm clothes to the senior citizens there. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, Chief Minister of Province No. 1 Sher Dhan Rai, Nepal Communist Party leader Subas Nembang and others accompanied the PM in Ghunsa.
The local residents were excited to welcome the head of the government in their village. Upon arrival of the PM and other leaders, the local residents have expected for uninterrupted power supply and internet connectivity. Himali Chungdak, a local resident, said they are highly optimistic after the presence of the PM in their remote village. We are hoping for the availability of health care service, power, telephone and internet connectivity, he added. They have also expressed the confidence for the increased tourism activities compared to the past. Residents of Ghunsa have demanded that Ghunsa be developed as a model village.
They submitted a paper of demands to visiting the Prime Minister. Their demands include a scrap of special permission for tourism promotion, upgradation of Kanchanjungja trail, electricity expansion to Khambachen, Gyabla and Amjilasa after increasing capacity of Ghunsa Micro Hydropower Project, distribution of landownership certificates to the residents of Khambachet who missed a land survey, based on their old landownership certificates and availability of qualified health workers at health institutions here.
There is a community health unit in Ghunsa established some six years ago. The health institution received its own building just two years ago after undergoing many hardships for long. Local Ghunsa Foundation took initiatives in constructing the building for the health post. It is, however, facing difficulty to cater to patients for want of adequate workforce. Two days away including by foot and vehicle from the district headquarters, Phungling, availability of basic facilities like health, education, electricity and infrastructural development of Ghunsa would help attract tourists and help local people as well as them in various ways, said local people.
