One killed, 11 injured in a jeep accident

Kathmandu - A person died and other 11 sustained injuries when a Bolero jeep met with an accident in Kisedi rivulet nearby Dordi rural municipality-4, in mountainous district Lamjung under the Gandaki State. Moni Gurung, 70, of Pachok died when the jeep (Ga 1 Ja 7127) en route to Dordi-5, Pachok from Sundarbazaar municipality met with the accident on Tuesday.

Critically injured Gurung died while undergoing treatment, police said. According to Police Inspector of District Police Office Lamjung Om Prakash Pun, the mortal body of Gurung has been taken to Lamjung district community hospital at Beshishahar municipality-8 for post-mortem. Police further shared that four out of 11 are critically injured and seven have minor injuries.

Among the injured are Nirajan Gurung, 15, and Suresh Gurung, 17, Prakash Gurung, 20, of ward-5 of the same municipality and Panchan Bahadur Tamang, 48, of ward-4, the police informed. Other injured are jeep driver Makhan Singh Gurung, 37, of Dordi-5, Pachowk, Dukhit Gurung, 35, of same ward, five-year-old Dipshon Gurung, five-year-old Ashika Gurung, Masina Gurung, 42, Niranjan Gurung, 16, and eight Nirjala Gurung. The injured are being treated at the community hospital. The jeep had fallen 15 meter off the road into the Kisedi rivulet.
