48 deaths in Lalitpur, with 2,507 active cases

Kathmandu - Lalitpur district has witnessed 48 deaths with 2,507 active COVID-19 cases as of today, according to the district public health office. A total of 2,603 infected people have got over the virus, said the public health office chief Dr Khageshwor Gelal. "Infection risks are increasing day by day for failure to follow health and safety guidelines.

People should be aware and infected people should stay in isolation so as not to spread the virus," he said. There are 1,588 active infection cases and 27 deaths from the infection in Lalitpur Metropolitan City also. The total 1,731 have been free of the infection, according to the metropolis spokesperson Raju Maharjan. Likewise, Godavari municipality has 194 active infection cases and the death toll reached five.

One hundred ninety nine infected people have been cured of the virus. The number of active infection cases in Mahalaxmi municipality is 347 and three have died from the virus. Of them, 325 are in home-isolation and 22 in hospital isolation, said Santosh Pokharel, information officer at the municipality.

The municipality has got 256 infected people cured. Mahankal rural municipality has recorded five active infection cases and nine have been free of the virus. There are a total of 15 infection cases in Bagmati rural municipality and 13 cases in Konjyosom rural municipality.
