Civil employees should pledge to help realize govt’s national motto: Minister Tripathi

Kathmandu - Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Hridayash Tripathi has spoken need for the government employees to work diligently and be committed to help obtain the government’s goal of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’. In a message he issued here today on the occasion of 17th Civil Service Day, Minister Tripathi said that the civil servants be able, technology-friendly, disciplined and diligent.

Stating that the government employees should function as a permanent government who are at the disposal of the public service and working in the best interest of the country, Tripathi lauded the contribution of the government employees for their relentless efforts in prevention and control of COVID-19 and treat the infected ones. The General Administration Minister viewed that if the political leadership and bureaucracy were to work in tandem, it would ensure greater good for the nation and help improve performance of the public administration.

He expressed his hope that this day would encourage and enthuse all those in civil service to deliver public service with integrity and honesty and manage development work. Furthermore, the Minister viewed that it was imperative to make the public service more professional, transparent, impartial, corruption-free, people-oriented and result-oriented.

In the message of best wishes, Minister Tripathi shared that the Federal Civil Service Act would be issued as well as State Civil Service Act would be issued in the guidance of the former one to bolster the morale of the government employees as well as to further enhance, empower and propel the civil employees in the local, state and central level.

Civil Service Day is being observed today with the slogan ‘Clean and Capable Civil Administration: Prosperity and Good-Governance’. The day is marked since 2061 BS to commemorate the issuance of the Civil Service Act-2013 BS that was issued on this day in 2013 BS. There are approximately 80,000 civil servants across the country.
