More four hundred industries registered in Palpa in a year

Kathmandu - Four hundred and seven more industries have been registered in Palpa district in one year. According to Manoj Ghimire, the Enterprises Development Facilitator at the Cottage and Small Industries Office Palpa, nine micro enterprises, three cottage industries and 395 small enterprises were registered in the district in fiscal year 2019/20.

Among these industries, 42 are production-based, 155 are based on agriculture and forest products, 148 are tourism-based and 62 are service enterprises. Ghimire shared that 181 industries are registered in the name of women proprietors while 243 are registered in the name of male proprietors. It is said 451 women and 645 men are employed in these industries.

A total 370 new enterprises including 52 production-based, 111 based of agriculture and forest products, 97 tourism based and 110 service-based, were registered in fiscal year 2018/19. The trend of registering industries in the name of women is on the rise in Palpa district in recent years.
