BP's contribution to institutional structure of present state is vital: NC Vice-President

Kathmandu - Vice-President of the Nepali Congress Bimalendra Nidhi has said BP Koirala had made significant contribution to the institutional structure of present state. In a Zoom meeting organized by Nepal Public Relations Committee of the NC on the 38th Memorial Day of late BP Koirala on Tuesday, Vice-President Nidhi reminded that the late BP Koirala, the first people's elected prime minister of Nepal, had played tremendous role to institutionalize the modern State organs- legislature, judiciary and executive.

"The geographical unification of Nepal done by Prithvinarayan Shah was given further impetus with constitutional structures by forming constitutional bodies like Public Service Commission. BP's political thoughts of nationality, democracy and socialism created base for the promulgation of present constitution from the constituent assembly," he stressed.

Committee chief Govinda Bhattarai also hailed BP Koirala, adding that his capacity and competence to solve the dispute on the Mt Everest between Nepal and China is not only unforgettable but also relevant at present to solve the border dispute with India. He further said BP had prioritized poor and low middle class people for development plan. Other leaders of the committee as Anand Bista and Munindra Nembang said BP's thought of nationality was still relevant in Nepal.
