Karnali State prohibits arbitrary relief distribution

Kathmandu - The meeting of the Council of Ministers in Karnali State has decided to regulate the relief distribution during the ongoing lockdown and introduce one-door system for it.

Now onwards any individual or organizations willing to provide relief materials to those hardest hit due to the nationwide lockdown enforced in the country to contain the outbreak of COVID-19 need to first appraise the concerned local levels and obtain permission for the same.

Karnali State government’s spokesperson and Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperative Bimala KC shared the decision taken to this end. It was also decided in view of minimization of spread the deadly infection.

Decisions made in Friday meeting also include requesting the federal government for strictly enforcing the stay-at-home order to prevent outbreak of the infection in community level. From individual to local level, the COVID-19 infection has entered the second stage in the country.

At this backdrop, rapid test of the suspected ones and strict implementation of the COVID-19 have emerged as one among the viable options to contain the outbreak at community level, the meeting acknowledged.

Furthermore, a recommendation would be made to Karnali State Chief Govinda Prasad Kalauni to conclude the fifth convention of Karnali State Assembly by 12:00pm tonight, informed KC.

The meeting also decided to request the federal government to instruct all the local units and States to ensure safety and security to their people and tell them to treat all the people equally, according to the Spokesperson.
