Additional doctors’ team deployed in Sudurpaschim State

Kathmandu - The federal Ministry of Health and Population has sent 33 doctors to Sudurpaschim State with the rise in the risk of coronavrus infection of late. The ministry sent doctors pursuing Doctor of Medicines (MD) in different teaching hospitals to Sudurpaschim State for providing coronavirus treatment service, said contact person at Sudurpaschim State Health Directorate, Hemraj Joshi.

The Office of the Chief Minister would depute the doctors to different districts in Sudurpaschim State. Joshi said they have been making necessary preparation for the same. The doctors would be deputed to Seti State Hospital and district hospitals based in Dhangadhi, Tikapur, Mahakali Hospital, Dadeldhura, Baitadi and Darchula, it is learnt.

The team of doctors would be deputed to widen the scope of coronavirus tests at a time when there is inadequate number of doctors and health workers in Sudurpaschim State to carry out tests and treatment. Earlier, a team of health workers including six doctors was deployed in Sudurpaschim State for performing rapid diagnostic tests. A total of 6,226 people underwent sample test for coronavirus in Sudurpaschim state till Thursday, according to the Directorate. Five people had tested positive for coronavirus in the State so far.
