State-2: 659 undergo RDT for coronavirus

Kathmandu - As many as 659 people have undergone the rapid diagnostic test (RDT) for coronavirus in State-2 as of Thursday.

Out of this many people, 657 have tested negative for the virus while two have tested positive, the State government's Ministry of Social Development stated.

Ministry secretary Dr Ram Prasad Ghimire said RDT has been done on 161 suspected patients in Saptari, on 50 in Siraha, on 49 in Bara, on 48 in Parsa, on 33 in Mahottari, on 57 in Sarlahi, on 18 in Dhanusha and on 208 suspected patients in Rautahat. Similarly, 454 swab samples out of the 535 samples collected in the State have tested negative to COVID-19.

The report of 77 is still awaited. Four people have been found infected with coronavirus in the State so far. Ghimire said, 1,137 people are kept in quarantine, 1525 people are put under home quarantine and 12 people are kept in isolation in State-2. The State government has designated the Narayani Sub-regional Hospital at Birgunj as the COVID-19 dedicated hospital.
