RDT for COVID-19 intensified
Kathmandu - Rapid diagnostic test ( RDT) for coronavirus on those quarantined in the district after their arrival from abroad has been intensified. The District Police Office Chitwan's chief Deepak Tiwari said the first round of test is targeted at those who have completed a 14-day public quarantine.
In Kalika municipality, testing of 39 has been complete. Now, they will be freed from a quarantine life. Other local levels obtained the kits on Sunday and they have already started testing procedures. So far, all the test results have come negative. According to Chief District Officer Nararyan Prasad Bhattarai, preparations are underway to conclude the tests of all 621 staying in public and home quarantine till coming Tuesday.
The number of people put in public quarantine is 30 among 621. Similarly, monitoring measures have been ramped up in temples, monasteries, churches and other religious sites in the district to check out whether or not people have gathered there during lockdown. Meanwhile, in Saptari, the coronavirus RDT has begun, the District Public Health Office said. People in quarantine and visiting fever clinic will be given top priority during the test.
So far, four test samples in Rajbiraj municipality, 16 in Kanchanrup municipality and 18 in Agnisaira Krishnasavaran rural municipality have come negative. Four teams, each comprising two health workers have been sent to quarantine facilities to conduct the test, the Office said. Presently there are 247 people including five women in several 32 quarantine facilities in the district.
