Food bank set up in aid of needy

Kathmandu - The Lions Club International District 325 A-One has operated a food bank here in support of the daily wage earners who are facing hunger due to the lockdown. Lions Club Relief Committee's east region coordinator, Rewat Bahadur Karki, said the food bank would help alleviate the shortage of food of the needy communities. Karki said 1,000 needy families of Biratnagar Metropolitan City would be provided with foodstuff and other essentials through the food bank in the initial phase. According to him, each needy family would be provided 10 kilogrammes rice and lentils, beaten rice, sugar, cooking oil, salt, instant noodles and biscuits. Lions Club of Biratnagar Active and Lions Club of Biratnagar Diono had arranged for the supply of the foodstuff. The foodstuff would be distributed in coordination of the Biratnagar Metropolitan City.
