Bus accident dead identified; injured under treatment

Galeswor–Four passengers, who died on the spot in a bus accident at Malika rural municipality-7, Bim in Myagdi on Sunday evening, have been identified.

Dhruba Prasad Sharma, Police Inspector of District Police Office, Myagdi, informed that Satadevi Bhattachan (70), Ayusha Jumjali (11) and Rabi Jumjali (9) of Malika rural municipality-7, Bim and Bishnu Pandey of Kaligandaki rural municipality-2, Gulmi died on the spot when the bus (Ga 1 Kha 4476) carrying passengers from Darwang met with an accident at Bim.

'The accident took place in the evening so it was difficult to put rescue measures', Police Inspector Sharma said. Sharma shared twelve critically injured in the accident were referred to the Beni Hospital. Most of the injured are students who were pursuing technical education at Kisani Krishi Technical Institute, Bim.

The students are said to be returning from home to school after completing their Dashain-Tihar vacation when the accident occurred. Twelve injured including bus driver Tek Bahadur Sarki of Mangala rural municipality-1, Painyupata were referred to Beni and remaining others are undergoing treatment at Darwang-based primary health facility, police informed.

The bus had fallen around 200 metres down off the road. The reason behind the accident is yet to be established. Among the injured are Rajman Darji (60), Hum Bahadur Jumjali, Pal Prasad Jumjali (38), Nardevi Pariyar (26), Bisan Khatry (16), Gaurab Poudel (17), Bijaya Kandel (17), Promise Poude (19), Dilu Sherfunja, Christina Jumjali (6), Tanadevi Jumjali (61) and Chandrakali Darji (60). Likewise, other injured undergoing treatment are Paldevi Jumjali, Suresh Jumjali, Leela Jumjali (31), Reselmaya Bidha (18), Keshab Sharma Niure (35) and Ramila Khatry (22).
