Committee formed to investigate implementation of budget

Surkhet–The Council of Ministers of Karnali Province has formed a committee to investigate implementation of budget allocated for this current fiscal year 2019/20.

In a press conference organized today to make public the decisions made in the Council of Ministers' meeting on September 20, Spokesperson of Karnali Province and its Minister for Land Reform, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Bimala KC, informed that a five-member committee was formed in coordination of Dr Bhim Bahadur Khattri for the same.

The Committee will look into the grievances coming from various subjects regarding the enforcement of the province's budget for the current fiscal year and will deliberate on the discussions held on the same in the Province Assembly. Spokesperson KC said, "The Committee will submit its report in a month. It is expected to address the complaints received from various quarters regarding the implementation of the budget."

The council of ministers' meeting also decided to issue instruction to the concerned agencies to facilitate implementation of the budget as per the clause 9 of the Karnali Province Budget Allocation Act-2076. Furthermore, decision was made to provide financial assistance to Sukhet Sajha Baisauna Daily's journalist Dil Prasad Sharma of Dailekh district for his treatment of bone marrow.

The decision also includes providing Rs 100,000 as a financial aid to Amar Damai aka Byage Nepali of Soru Rural Municipality-1 in Mugu district for his treatment. Damai, who accidently received electric shock, is currently receiving treatment in Kathmandu.
