Saptari–Kanchanrup municipality of Saptari district has purchased a fire engine. Mayor Basanta Kumar Mishra said that the fire engine was purchased to reduce loss of lives and property due to fire incidents.
The fire truck along with portable pump was bought at a cost of Rs 5.6 million under Parliament Partnership Programme, said Social Development Section Chief, Rajesh Kumar Yadav.
The neigbouring local level -- Saptakoshi municipality, and Tirahut and Agnisair Krishnasabaran rural municipalities – will also be benefited by using the fire engine from Kanchanrup.
