Myanmar releases 17 Bangladesh prisoners

YANGON– Myanmar authorities have released 17 Bangladesh prisoners after they served their jail time in Myanmar, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported Friday. 


The 17 freed Bangladesh citizens were handed over by Rakhine state's Maungtaw authorities to Bangladesh border guard force on Wednesday. 


They were brought back in three water crafts by the Bangladesh border force. 
Of the 17 Bangladesh prisoners, 14 were arrested after they found stranded in Myanmar, while three others were charged with committing other crimes.
