National Planning Commission Should Be Accountable for National Pride Projects Progress, Say Committee Members

Kathmandu. Members of the Finance Committee have stated that the National Planning Commission should be responsible for the progress of national pride projects. They said in the meeting of the Finance Committee that the commission should not only monitor but also make them accountable. MP Sagar Bhusal questioned whether the commission would take responsibility for the shameful progress of national pride projects. He said it was unfortunate that the commission only monitored but the situation remained the same. 'You went for monitoring, but how many times did you recommend action for less work?', he said, 'Whose responsibility is this?' MPs said that the quality has not even been maintained for the long-term use of national pride projects. They said that due to the unnecessarily winding construction of the Mid-Hill Highway, transportation costs will be expensive.
