Monsoon Affecting Nepal, Moderate Rainfall Expected

Kathmandu. Currently, the monsoon wind's influence is present across the country. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon low-pressure line is located south of the average position in the eastern parts of Nepal and around the average position in the western parts.

Currently, there is generally cloudy weather in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. The Madhesh Province, however, has partly cloudy weather. Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is occurring in some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

On Monday, the mountainous and hilly regions of the country are expected to be generally cloudy. The plains of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces will also be generally cloudy, according to the Department. The plains of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces will be partly cloudy.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and snowfall in some places in the mountainous and hilly regions of the country. Some places in the plains of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces are expected to receive rainfall. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in one or two places in the plains of Koshi Province and in Madhesh Province. The Department has indicated a possibility of winds blowing in some places in the plains of Madhesh Province as well as Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
