2,000 Drivers Penalized for Traffic Violations in 24 Hours, Rs. 2.04 Million Collected

Kathmandu. In the last 24 hours, two thousand drivers have been penalized for violating traffic rules. According to the traffic police, revenue of Rs. 2,040,014 has been deposited into the state treasury from this action.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action has been taken against 61 people for driving under the influence of alcohol, 129 for illegal 'ride sharing', 61 for violating traffic signals, and 113 for speeding.

Similarly, action has been taken against 107 for not following 'lane' discipline, 84 for honking in prohibited areas, 93 for parking vehicles on the sidewalk, 96 for driving on one-way streets, and 1,256 for not following other traffic rules, totaling two thousand people.
