Nationwide Rainfall Expected with Thunderstorms and Lightning

Kathmandu. On Saturday, the weather across the country will be mostly cloudy with thunderstorms and lightning and rain. According to the weather forecast for the cities, even though it will not rain in some Terai and eastern parts of the cities in the afternoon, there is a possibility of rain across the country at night.

According to the forecast, it will not rain in Simara, Biratnagar, Dharan, and Janakpur during the afternoon. These four cities will have partial clouds only in the afternoon and the probability of rain is zero percent. 

However, all other cities from Dadeldhura to Taplejung will experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning in the afternoon. In the afternoon, Kathmandu and Pokhara have the highest probability of rain, i.e., 60 percent.

Regarding temperature, it will be extremely hot in Dhangadhi and Nepalgunj in the afternoon. The maximum temperature in these two cities is estimated to reach 36 to 38 degrees Celsius. 

Similarly, the maximum temperature in Dipayal, Janakpur, and Simara will be between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius. The temperature will remain normal in the hilly and Himalayan districts. The maximum temperature in Jomsom and Jiri will be only 25 to 27 degrees Celsius.

The weather at night will be slightly different from the afternoon. Simara, Biratnagar, Dharan, and Janakpur, where it was predicted not to rain in the afternoon, will also experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning at night. According to the data, there is a 60 percent chance of rain in Dadeldhura, Dipayal, Dhangadhi, Birendranagar, Nepalgunj, and Kathmandu at night. In other cities, the probability of rain is between 20 to 40 percent.

At night, the minimum temperature across the country will be measured in Jumla and Jiri. The minimum temperature in these two cities will drop to between 15 to 17 degrees Celsius. Overall, on Asar 20, no city in the country will be spared from rain.
