Search Continues for Missing Vehicle and Passengers After Karnali Highway Accident

Kathmandu. A team of divers from the Armed Police Force Nepal Disaster Management Training School Kurintar has also been deployed to search for the missing vehicle and passengers in an accident on the Karnali Highway in Sangetada, Chamunda Bindrasaini Municipality-7, Dailekh. A team of 4 divers, including Armed Police Inspector Prem Bahadur Tamang, reached the accident site today and started the search with equipment. The team has brought equipment such as sonar cameras and magnets for underwater and water flow searches. The Force vehicle, Karnali Province 02-001 Kha 1055, which was traveling from Surkhet to Kalikot, had fallen about 6/7 hundred meters down from the road into the Karnali River on Asar 18. As soon as the accident was reported, a team of 6 divers from the Armed Police Force Nepal Gulm Dailekh, Upper Karnali Hydropower Project Security Base, and for further assistance, a team from Armed Police Force, Nepal No. 6 Mahashwari Bahini Headquarters Surkhet were deployed for rescue. On the same day, a male body was recovered from a cliff about 400 meters below the accident site. The condition of the vehicle and other passengers is still unknown.
