Roads Affected by Floods, Landslides, and Maintenance Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Main highways in various districts of the country are affected due to floods, landslides, and road maintenance. According to Nepal Police data, some roads are operating with one-way traffic, and some roads are completely blocked.

In the Koshi Province, the Mid-Hill Highway in Bhojpur has been blocked due to floods, and currently, one-way traffic is being operated with an alternative route. Similarly, in the Ilam's Rajduwali area, the Mechi Highway is operating one-way due to landslides.

In the Bagmati Province, traffic has been stopped on the BP Highway (Khurgot–Nepalthok–Katunjebesi section) in Kavrepalanchok due to potential flood risks. The Phakhel–Humane–Pharping–Kathmandu road section in Indrasarovar Rural Municipality–2 and 4 of Makwanpur is completely closed due to road maintenance. Police have stated that this road will remain closed until the 25th of this month.

In the Lumbini Province, one-way traffic is operating in the Dumre area of Tansen Municipality–8 on the Siddhartha Highway in Palpa due to landslides.

In the Karnali Province, two highways are completely blocked. The Bheri Corridor, connecting Jajarkot–Dolpa, is completely closed due to continuous rainfall at Rigigar Khola in Athbiskot Municipality–6 of Rukum Paschim. Similarly, Police have stated that the Ghhorahi–Rukum Shahid Marg is completely blocked due to landslides in the Kholabang area of Parivartan Rural Municipality–1 in Rolpa.

Police have urged the public to check the latest status before traveling on affected roads and to use alternative routes.
