WhatsApp Rolls Out New Features to Combat Spam Calls and Enhance User Privacy

• 'Silence Unknown Callers' Feature

WhatsApp has recently added a feature that automatically 'silences' calls from unknown numbers. The benefit of this is that you do not have to be bothered by frequent spam calls. The call will come through, but the phone will not ring.

How to Block Directly from Chat

• Open WhatsApp and go to that number's chatbox.

• Tap on the three dots in the top right corner.

• Click on 'More' and then select the 'Block' option.

• After confirming, that number will be blocked and cannot message or call you.

How to Block from Settings

• Open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Privacy.

• Tap on 'Blocked Contacts'.

• Select the 'Add' icon at the top and choose the number that needs to be blocked.

• Doing so will add that number to your block list.
