Foreign Minister confident in Hamas abductee Bipin Joshi’s safe return

Kathmandu, January 13 — Foreign Minister Arzu Rana has confirmed that Bipin Joshi, a Nepali national who was abducted by Hamas, is safe.

Speaking at a meeting of the International Relations Committee of House of Representatives on Monday, Minister Rana assured that Joshi would return home safely.

She stated, "Bipin is safe. I am confident he will return." Minister Rana also mentioned that she had spoken with the Ambassador of Qatar, who assured her that he would help arrange communication with Qatar’s Foreign Minister.

"I spoke to the Ambassador of Qatar, and he promised to discuss the matter with Qatar's Foreign Minister. I expect to have a conversation with the Foreign Minister soon," she added.

Minister Rana further shared that there were earlier reports indicating that 34 individuals, including Joshi, were set to be released. However, she clarified that the report later proved to be inaccurate.

She also mentioned that in July, Israel had sent a list of women and children to Hamas, which included the names of those abducted.
