Swarnalakshmi Cooperative fraud case: Court orders Rabi Lamichhane’s custody
Kathmandu, Januay 12 — The Kathmandu District Court has ordered the police to take Rashtriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane into custody in connection with the Swarnalakshmi Cooperative fraud case.
District Judge Madhav Prasad Adhikari’s bench has ordered that Lamichhane be handed over to police custody, to appear again in court on Monday.
Lamichhane had presented himself in court early Sunday morning, where his statement was recorded throughout the day.
After completing his statement, Senior Advocates Sushil Panta and Raman Shrestha appeared in court for the debate.
However, the prosecution claimed they had not yet reviewed Lamichhane's statement, leading the judge to postpone the debate.
As a result, Lamichhane, who had previously been released on bail from Pokhara, is now set to enter judicial custody.
