One dead, another missing after drowning in Kamala River

Siraha, November 15 — One of two individuals who went missing while swimming in the Kamala River has been found dead. The search for the other person is still ongoing, according to the police.
On Friday, 16-year-old Roshan Mandal, the son of Bindeshwar Mandal from Mirchaiya Municipality-5, was found dead in the Kamala River near Uttar Bahini of Karjanha Municipality-1, while swimming.
Along with Roshan, 15-year-old Lakshman Kumar Sah, the son of Ramnath Sah, who had also gone missing, has yet to be found, as informed by the District Police Office Siraha.
The two had gone to bathe in the river on the occasion of Kartik Purnima, but while swimming, they reportedly drowned.
Eyewitnesses informed the police, and a team from the Bandipur Police Post and the Armed Police Force from Mirchaiya was deployed to search for them. During the search, Roshan’s body was found floating in the river.
An investigation is underway, and the search for the missing person continues.
