KATHMANDU, June 8: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has officially inaugurated the Lumbini Cable Car. Prime Minister Dahal inaugurated the cable car by unveiling a copper sheet at Bottom Station located at Golpark Bam Ghat in Butwal.

The Lumbini cable car was built with the investment of IME Group for commercial purposes. The cable car will travel a distance of 3 km, from Golpark Bamghat, Butwal to Tinau Rural Municipality-3 Basantapur, Palpa. The Lumbini Cable Car is the first cable car in Lumbini Province.

After the inauguration of the cable car, Basantapur has now become a religious and tourist destination full of structures including Kamakhyadevi temple, Bhagwati temple, Ganesh temple, Kailash mountain, Bar Pipal, Dhunge Dhara, ponds, etc.
