Babu Ram Gautam elected Speaker of Province 1 unopposed

KATHMANDU, Jan 12: Babu Ram Gautam of CPN (Maoist Center) has been elected the Speaker of Province 1.
Gautam was elected unopposed to the post after no other parties filed their candidacy for the post.
Gautam received support from both the ruling and the opposition parties.
Gautam is scheduled to take office this afternoon.
