Mine blast kills 4 children in N. Afghanistan

BURKA, Afghanistan - Four children lost their lives after a mine left over from the past wars exploded in Burka district of Baghlan province in northern Afghanistan on Wednesday, police spokesman in the northern region Mahfozullah Akbari said Thursday. 


The ill-fated children, two of them from one family, according to the official, found a device and began playing with when the device exploded killing all the four on the spot. 


He also noted that Taliban militants control the area where the tragic incident happened.Taliban militants who are active in Burka district, some 180 km north of Kabul and often are in clash with the government forces are yet to make comment on the report.
