Hetauda, Makawanpur–Chief Minister of Province 3, Dormani Poudel, today said Nepal has achieved a political success due to martyrs' sacrifice.
"We should recognise sacrifice of martyrs for establishing democracy," he said while speaking at a programme organised here by the provincial government to mark the Martyrs' Day. Poudel, also the founder of Martyr Memorial, Hetauda, lauded martyrs' courage to stand up against the then tyrannical rulers for the sake of democracy. On the occasion, he paid tribute to various martyrs by garlanding their statues.
Also, Minister of the province for Internal Affairs and Law, Shalikram Jammarkattel remembered martyrs.
Likewise, province's Speaker Sanu Kumar Shrestha, provincial ministers, lawmakers, members of the provincial planning commission, provincial chiefs of Nepal Army and police and representatives of local level also paid tribute to the martyrs.
