Child killed in attack by Cheetah

Damauli – A child has died in an attack by a Cheetah in Tanahu on Saturday night. 
The deceased has been identified as ten-year-old Amrit Gurung of Dhalkebar in Bhanu municipality-2 of the district. Seriously injured in the attack, Gurung died in course of treatment at the Laxmi Hospital in Dumre, according to DSP at the District Police Office Shyamu Aryal. 


Gurung had come out of his house to wash his hands after dinner when the wild animal pounced upon him and took him away to the nearby jungle. A joint search by police and locals found him with neck injured near a stream in the jungle. 


This is the second fatality in 17 days in attack by a Cheetah in the municipality, creating a sense of terror among the locals. Earlier, a four-year-old girl was killed in a similar attack on November 15. 
Meanwhile, police have mobilized a team to find the Cheetah involved in the incidents.
