US Defense Secretary States Iran War Cost $37.5 Billion, Seeks More Funds

Washington DC. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has stated that the ongoing war with Iran has cost $37.5 billion so far. In his statement to the US Parliament, he said this amount could increase further and more budget is needed to conduct the war.

Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Keen, participating in a Senate hearing, demanded billions of dollars more in defense budget for the war with Iran. General Keen stated that it is his responsibility to inform President Donald Trump about potential human casualties and risks when making war-related decisions.

Meanwhile, the US military has reported conducting airstrikes on Iran for the 11th consecutive night. According to the US military, the strikes targeted Iranian military operational centers, drone storage sites, aircraft hangars, and military infrastructure.

President Trump has also warned that an attack could soon occur in the Piks Mountain region, believed to be related to Iran's nuclear program. In response, Tehran has warned that any attack on its nuclear centers will be considered a further expansion of the war.

There has been intense debate in the US Senate regarding the cost, strategy, and objectives of the war. Opposition Democrat lawmakers have accused the administration of failing to provide clear answers regarding the justification and cost of the war.
