Landslides Block Kanti Lokpath Road in Makwanpur

Makwanpur. Traffic has been completely halted due to landslides in 2 places along the Kanti Lokpath road section. Traffic was halted on Tuesday morning due to landslides in 2 places on this shortest road connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu.

According to the Area Police Office, Thingan, at around 12:30 AM on Asar 16, a landslide with stones fell from above the road in the Kanti Lokpath road section in Bakaiya Rural Municipality-12, Thingan, Makwanpur, completely obstructing the road. A police team from the Area Police Office, Thingan, was dispatched to the location and began clearing the landslide from 5:30 AM.

While the landslide clearing work was underway, at 6:35 AM, as the road was being cleared and opened, another landslide occurred in Bhimfedi-8 Bharyang Dada, Makwanpur, completely closing the road, according to the District Police Office, Makwanpur.

According to Madhav Kafle, spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Makwanpur, efforts are underway to clear the landslide in Bhimfedi-8 Bharyang Dada. He stated that the road is unlikely to open immediately as the landslide is large.
