Lionel Messi Receives Grand Welcome During FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier

Kathmandu. During the ongoing match against Jordan in Group 'J' of the FIFA World Cup 2026, the supporters present at Dallas Stadium gave a grand welcome as captain Lionel Messi entered the field.

The stands were filled with applause and cheering when coach Lionel Scaloni brought Messi onto the field in the second half. Messi's family is also present in the stadium watching the game.

Since Argentina had already secured a place in the knockout stage, Scaloni had given Messi rest by not including him in the starting lineup. He had stated before the match that Messi would enter the field in the second half.

Currently, Argentina is leading Jordan 2-1. Giovanni Lo Celso and Lautaro Martinez have scored goals for Argentina, while Musa Al-Tamari of Jordan has scored one goal.
