Rastriya Swatantra Party Revises Election Schedule for Office Bearers

Chitwan. The election schedule for the Rastriya Swatantra Party convention has been revised for the fifth time and published. According to the revised schedule, voting for the 6 office bearers to be elected in the second phase has been set from 9:15 PM to 12:15 AM on Thursday. The result of the vote count will be at 1:30 AM. The distribution of forms for the office bearer positions has been set from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday. Similarly, claims and objections have been set for 8:00 PM. The schedule has been revised due to delays in the announcement of the results of the first phase of the election. Among the 19 office bearers, Rabi Lamichhane has already been elected unopposed as the chairman. Spokesperson Manish Jha informed that the second phase of the election will be held for the remaining two vice-chairpersons, one general secretary, and three joint general secretaries. However, there is an equal possibility that voting may not take place as efforts are underway for consensus for the 6 positions. According to the statute of Rastriya Swatantra Party, the chairman nominates one senior leader, one vice-chairman, one general secretary, two joint general secretaries, one spokesperson, three deputy spokespersons, one treasurer, and two deputy treasurers. The Rastriya Swatantra Party has a provision for a 151-member central committee. Seven provincial office bearers will be ex-officio members. Among them, the chairman has been given the authority to nominate 51 people.
