National Janamorcha Demands Probe into Finance Minister's Alleged Tax Irregularities and Indian Helicopter Incursion

Kathmandu. National Janamorcha has demanded an impartial and neutral investigation into the issue of Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle allegedly manipulating tax rates to benefit a specific company and leaking confidential information.

Party acting chairman Rashmi Raj Nepali, issuing a press statement, stated that the party has drawn attention to these serious allegations raised in the parliament and public media.

Janamorcha has supported the demand for the immediate formation of a judicial or parliamentary special committee to uncover the truth of this incident. Reminding that there are precedents of investigation committees being formed in serious incidents in the past, the statement mentioned that the stance of the Finance Minister and the government in refusing the need for an investigation is not correct.

Janamorcha believes that the government and the Finance Minister themselves opposing the investigation committee has further strengthened the suspicion of the Finance Minister's involvement in manipulating tax rates and leaking information. Raising serious questions on this matter, the statement said, 'It cannot be ignored that not only the Finance Minister alone was involved in that act, but was it not done with the involvement of the head of the government himself?'

Similarly, National Janamorcha has strongly condemned the incident where an Indian-Tibetan border security force's military helicopter entered Nepali airspace without permission, violating Nepali airspace in the Darcula district. The party stated that the Nepali government's lack of any reaction even when an Indian military helicopter entered Nepal by violating the sovereignty and airspace of another country is mysterious and worrying.

Janamorcha has expressed serious objection to the Indian side not even offering a simple apology for violating the airspace of another independent country. Stating that the government should not remain a spectator on such sensitive issues related to nationality and sovereignty, Janamorcha has drawn the government's attention to immediately protest diplomatically with the Indian government and demand an explanation.
