Leaders to Attend Rastriya Swatantra Party Convention

Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden and Janamat Party Chairman Dr. CK Raut will participate in the first national convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

Lingden and Raut have received 'invitations' to attend the inaugural session to be held in Chitwan on Sunday, informed General Secretary Bhuwadev Shah. According to Shah, former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai will also participate in the convention. He informed that letters have been sent to parties that have played an important role in political change, apart from nationally recognized political parties.

'We have sent invitations to nationally recognized political parties for the convention. Besides, we have also invited those who have contributed to political change and are not currently in parliament. However, information has been received so far that Baburam Bhattarai, Rajendra Lingden, and CK Raut will participate,' Shah told Ratopati.

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister and coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, has not yet decided whether to participate in the convention. Prachanda's secretariat informed that an invitation has been received from RSP.

The secretariat stated that a decision will be made only after consulting with doctors as Prachanda's health condition has not fully improved. According to the secretariat, a decision will be made today on whether Prachanda will attend himself or send other leaders.

Similarly, he stated that although good wishes have been received from some friendly nations for the convention, they have not been invited to participate. Approximately three thousand convention representatives will participate in the convention to be held on Ashad 7, 8, and 9.
