Kathmandu. Nepali Congress MP Sita Thapaliya Urmila has said that the clarification given by Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal on Prime Minister Balendra Shah's statement on June 17 that Nepal has encroached upon India's border is not satisfactory. On Thursday, in the House of Representatives meeting, she recited a poem titled 'The Day the Country Was Forgotten' expressing dissatisfaction with Khanal's clarification.

The Day the Country Was Forgotten
You said you would build the country
I was at ease
But suddenly
Before the echo of your voice faded
You raised a finger
At your own mother's
Dignity!

You swore by touching the soil
But
You started questioning that very soil
And kept singing the mother's glory
But forgot the duty of being a child
Forgot the love of the womb and lap!

That's why today I am not at ease
My heart is pounding
With worry for the country.

When motivated by self-interest
Perhaps many things can be forgotten
But don't forget
The people who placed the burden of their votes on you
With immense trust
Don't forget the soil where the people stand
Don't forget
The parents who bless you!!!

If this forgetting continues
One day you might forget the country itself
And on the day you forget the country
On that day
