Nepal Defeats Oman by 8 Wickets in Asia Cup Men's Qualifier

Singapore. Nepal has achieved an easy 8-wicket victory over Oman in the first semi-final of the Asia Cup Men's Qualifier. Nepal chased the target of 95 runs set by Oman in 9.2 overs for the loss of 2 wickets.

Lokesh Bam contributed a maximum of 44 runs to Nepal's victory. He scored 7 fours and 1 six in just 26 balls. Former captain Rohit Paudel scored 21 runs in 20 balls. He hit 2 fours.

Opener Kushal Bhurtel, who is in form in the tournament, gave Nepal an explosive start. He scored 20 runs with the help of 3 fours and 1 six in just 8 balls. The other opener Asif Sheikh returned to the pavilion after scoring 1 run.

Earlier, Oman, who chose to bat after winning the toss, became helpless against the Nepali bowlers. The team could only score 94 runs by losing all wickets in 19.4 overs.

Captain Sufyan Mahmud contributed a maximum of 38 runs for Oman. Zubair Al Balushi scored 22 runs and Abdul Jalil scored 16 runs. Other batsmen could not reach double-digit figures.

To dismiss Oman cheaply, Karan KC took 3 wickets by bowling 4 overs, including 1 maiden, conceding 20 runs. Sompal Kami and Sandeep Lamichhane took 2 wickets each. Sahab Alam, Kushal Malla, and Dipendra Singh Airee took 1 wicket each.

Now Nepal will face the winner between Hong Kong and Malaysia in the final.
