Nepal Medical Council License Exam Results Show 66.95% Pass Rate

Kathmandu. This year, 66.95 percent of students have passed the license examination published by the Nepal Medical Council (NMC).

The doctor's registration certificate (license) examination published by the Nepal Medical Council (NMC) was conducted from Jestha 12 to 15. Out of two thousand 263 examinees who appeared for the 69th doctor's license examination this year, only one thousand 515 passed.

The Nepal Medical Council has stated that the pass rate of students who studied from Nepali medical colleges is significant. Most of the examinees who returned after studying from abroad failed, said the council's acting registrar Dr. Dipendra Pandey.

In MBBS, out of one thousand 254 examinees from medical colleges in Nepal, 963 i.e. 76.79 percent passed.

Out of 133 who studied from China, 20 i.e. 15.04 percent, out of 367 from Bangladesh, 151 i.e. 41.14 percent, the pass percentage of examinees who studied MBBS from India is 42.31 percent, while 28.57 percent of examinees who studied from the Philippines were successful.

None of the examinees who came after studying from Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Ukraine passed this time. The BDS pass rate from domestic colleges also showed excellent results. Out of 400 examinees from colleges in Nepal, 343 i.e. 85.75 percent passed. Only one out of 17 who studied BDS from India was successful.

According to the results, Chitwan Medical College has become excellent with a 93.10 percent result in MBBS, while BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences has 92.21 percent and Nepali Army Institute of Health Sciences has 91.67 percent students passed. In BDS, 100 percent of students from Gandaki Medical College were successful.

The main reasons for the weak results of examinees who came after studying from abroad are language barriers and curriculum differences, said the council's acting registrar Dr. Pandey.
