Spain's 2026 World Cup Squad Jersey Numbers Revealed

Madrid. With 10 days remaining until the 2026 World Cup begins with the opening match between Mexico and South Africa. In such a situation, the curiosity surrounding the Spanish team's jersey numbers has ended.

The interest among fans was about which player would wear which number jersey after head coach Luis De La Fuente announced the final 26-member squad for Spain. This was a highly anticipated moment, especially for sports enthusiasts and jersey collectors. Although recent Spanish games had hinted at the jersey numbers for some players, nothing had been officially clarified. The biggest discussion was about who would get the number 10 and number 9 jerseys.

Lamine Yamal, who wears the prestigious number 10 jersey for Barcelona in club football, will continue with his familiar number 19 jersey for the Spanish national team. Two years ago, when Spain won the European Championship (Euro Cup), 17-year-old Yamal wore the same number. The prestigious number 10 jersey for Spain in the North American World Cup will be worn by midfielder Dani Olmo.

Coach Fuente's announcement of the squad was immediately followed by Olmo hinting at the jersey number change on social media, so many have taken this decision as natural.

On the other hand, midfielder Gavi, who has returned to the national team after a long injury layoff, has got his old number 9 jersey back. Gavi, who was out of the national team for about a year, has been using this number since the beginning of his international career.
