Elderly citizens' eyesight restored
Phalebash (Parbat) - As many as 25 elderly citizens of Parbat district have regained eyesight after losing it in their old age.
After cost-free cataract surgery with help of five lions clubs in the district the visions of the elderly people were restored.
At a two-day health camp held at Parbat District Hospital, 25 elderly citizens' eyesight was restored in one eye whereas one regained vision in both the eyes, according to Lions Club of Shivalaya's former Chairman Basanta Kumar Karmacharya.
The camp organized by five lions clubs and Leo Club saw the eye check up of 800 patients. 150 patients from the Jaljala rural municipality were provided with cost-free medicines and glasses.
The Himalaya Eye Hospital Pokhara provided the cost-free surgery. The health workers led by eye specialist Dr Babita Gurung carried out the successful surgery.
