Agricultural Inputs Company Distributes Chemical Fertilizers to Farmers

Kanchanpur. As the main 'yam' of paddy cultivation approaches, the process of distributing chemical fertilizers stocked at the Agricultural Inputs Company Limited, Mahendranagar branch, has been initiated. The branch has prepared to re-determine the quota of stocked fertilizers and make them available to farmers through cooperative societies.

Currently, the branch's warehouse has one thousand metric tons of urea, 500 metric tons of DAP, and 150 metric tons of potash in stock.

Branch Manager Hemraj Joshi informed that arrangements have been made for the sale and distribution of fertilizers to farmers through cooperatives according to the quota system. According to him, although the stocked fertilizers were within the quota allocated to the cooperatives, they remained in the warehouse because they were not picked up within the stipulated time.

"According to the procedure, cooperatives must pick up the allocated quota of fertilizer within ten days," he said, "The fertilizer has remained in stock in the warehouse because it was not picked up within the stipulated time."

According to him, the branch has already distributed nine quotas of urea and seven quotas of DAP from last August to the present. He informed that one quota is equivalent to 500 metric tons of fertilizer. He stated that a letter has been sent to the Provincial Fertilizer Distribution Management Committee to determine the quota for the re-distribution of the stocked fertilizer.

"We will start the process of re-distributing the stocked fertilizer once the decision regarding quota determination is received," said Manager Joshi, "We estimate that the currently stocked fertilizer will be sufficient until the paddy transplantation. Since some fertilizer is also available with Salt Trading, we are confident that there will be no shortage of fertilizer for paddy cultivation this year."

The branch has also informed that a demand for additional fertilizer supply has been sent to the central office, keeping in mind the future needs. "We have received assurances that the additional fertilizer will arrive by June," said Manager Joshi.

In recent years, the problem of chemical fertilizer shortage during the main farming season has been recurring. This year, the stocked fertilizer is expected to provide some relief to the farmers.
