Parliament Sessions Scheduled for Monday to Discuss Budget Priorities

Kathmandu. Meetings of both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly under the Federal Parliament are scheduled for Monday. Both houses will discuss the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 (excluding tax proposals). The government has advanced this discussion process to gather suggestions from the members of parliament on the budget's priorities and principles before presenting the budget. According to the Parliament Secretariat, in the meeting of the House of Representatives at 11 AM, the Chairperson of the Rules Drafting Committee, Ganesh Parajuli, will present a proposal for consideration of the 'Report of the Rules Drafting Committee of the House of Representatives, 2083'. After this proposal is presented, a formal discussion on the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for the upcoming fiscal year will commence in the house. Similarly, the meeting of the National Assembly, scheduled for 1:15 PM, has also set the agenda to discuss the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for the upcoming fiscal year. On the eve of budget preparation, the meeting of the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee under the Federal Parliament is also scheduled for Monday. The meeting has been called for 10 AM in the committee's hall at Singha Durbar. The main agenda of this meeting is to discuss with various ministries regarding the formulation of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84. The schedule includes detailed consultations with representatives of the concerned bodies, focusing on the priorities, plans, and ministry-specific needs of the upcoming fiscal year's budget.
