Congress Leader KC Proposes Commission for Constitutional Amendment Suggestions

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC has stated that a commission should be formed under the leadership of a former Chief Justice to provide suggestions for constitutional amendment. 

Speaking at an interaction program on 'The Role of Nepali Congress in Contemporary Politics' organized by the Democratic Thought Society in Kathmandu on Sunday, KC said that the commission should coordinate with all political parties both inside and outside the parliament to provide suggestions. He stated that the constitution should not just lead the desires of a single party and that a national debate is necessary.

"Let a commission for constitutional reform suggestions be formed under the convenership of a former Chief Justice or a constitutional expert recognized by the nation," KC said. "The constitution should not just lead the desires and opinions of a single party, but should focus on the errors and weaknesses seen in practice and conduct a national debate on the constitution."

KC mentioned that he has already given suggestions on this matter to the Congress President and General Secretary.
