Madan Smriti Library Operational in Parbat

Parbat. Madan Smriti Library has come into operation in Parbat. The library has been brought into operation on the occasion of the 33rd Madan-Ashrit Smriti Day.

Former Minister and Central Member of CPN (UML) Padam Giri and founder of Nepal Communist Party Parbat Toyanath Chalise inaugurated the library this morning by handing over books of various genres.

The library has been established with the objective of preserving the reading culture that is disappearing among the general public, political party leaders and cadres with the increasing use of social media. CPN (UML) Parbat Chairman Govinda Pahadi informed that the library has been established in the CPN (UML) Parbat's own office located at Maitri Chowk in the district headquarters Kushmabazar.

The library has books of all genres of Nepali literature including politics, law, economics, history, religion and culture, science, art, nature, thought, novels, general knowledge, various archives and works.

CPN (UML) Parbat Chairman Govinda Pahadi informed that the library has about three thousand books and the work of collecting more is underway. Pahadi said that it will be developed as a common library of the district. More than fifteen thousand books will be kept in the library in the first phase.

Here, Phalebas's Moti Library has been continuously in operation. It has already been awarded as a model library in Nepal, while in the neighboring district of Baglung, Vidyamandir Library has also been in operation for a long time. Other libraries have been closed.
