Karnali Province Government Discusses Establishing Apple Development Board

Surkhet. The Karnali Province Government has started discussions to establish a Province Apple Development Board. Discussions have begun with former Karnali Province Assembly members, informed the Minister of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives and government spokesperson Binod Kumar Shah.

He said, "Work has been done to collect ideas and suggestions on the bill to establish and operate the Karnali Province Apple Development Board. Suggestions have come to make it farmer-friendly and address livelihood issues to the highest extent."

Discussions were held with Province Assembly members from Dolpa, Humla, Mugu, Jumla, and Kalikot. Minister Shah stated that the Province Government had to form an Apple Development Board to resolve the problems caused by the damage to apples produced by farmers every year due to roads and other reasons. Field study has also been conducted in places where apples are found.
