Film 'Dhurandhar 2' Script Theft Dispute Officially Ends After Apology

Mumbai. The dispute over the script theft of the film 'Dhurandhar 2' has now officially ended. Santosh Kumar, who accused director Aditya Dhar of stealing the script, apologized in court after a defamation lawsuit was filed. Last April, Santosh Kumar had been claiming that Aditya Dhar stole his script and made the film.

In a press conference held on March 30, Santosh Kumar publicly accused Aditya Dhar of script theft, calling him a 'thief'. In response, Aditya Dhar filed a defamation complaint against Santosh Kumar in the Bombay High Court.

During a recent hearing, senior advocate Dr. Virendra Saraf, arguing on behalf of Aditya Dhar, stated that they were ready to resolve the matter if Santosh Kumar assured that he would not make such defamatory remarks in the future.

In court, Santosh Kumar's lawyer presented an unconditional apology and assured that he would no longer make any negative statements against Aditya Dhar. After Santosh Kumar apologized, Aditya Dhar decided not to pursue the defamation and compensation claims. The court accepted Santosh Kumar's apology and dismissed the case.

Earlier, at the press conference in March, Santosh Kumar had claimed that he wrote the script for Dhurandhar and later Aditya Dhar made 'Dhurandhar 2' based on the same story. He had stated that he realized it was his script only after watching the film.

He also claimed to have narrated the story to many corporate companies and production houses in 2023 and wanted to cast Aditya Roy Kapur for the script. Although he claimed to have registered the script with the Screenwriters Association in November 2023 and possessed all evidence, he ultimately had to apologize in court for his accusations.

He had also alleged that the film misused his work and turned the story into political propaganda.
