Supreme Court Bench Declines to Hear 'Lalibazaar' Film Screening Plea

Kathmandu. The petition demanding to stop the screening of the film 'Lalibazaar' has been placed in a bench that cannot hear it. The petition was scheduled for hearing in the joint bench of Supreme Court Justices Tekprasad Dhungana and Shanti Singh Thapa. However, as it could not be heard, an order has been issued to schedule the hearing for another day. Dr. Roshani Nepali had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking to overturn the order of the High Court Patan, stating that some words used in the film insulted Badi women.
